Transportation of additional luggage, surfboards (maximum 7 feet in length), or large items are not included in the price and must be arranged ahead of time with Bamba Experience. A payment of $10 (U.S.) is required for each extra item. Additional luggage or large items will be stored in the luggage compartment, while surfboards will be secured to the roof of the shuttle bus. When a customer is being picked up at the airport, Bamba Experience sends a representative to meet incoming passengers at the International Arrivals area. Can you provide me emergency contact information while I am traveling with Bamba Experience?
We are available 24 hours a day 7 days a week at the following phone numbers:
Within Mexico (toll free) 01 800 GO BAMBA (462 2622)
Outside of Mexico 011 52 555 584 4401 or 011 52 555 584 4402

What type of luggage should I bring?

The smaller the better but don’t worry if you don’t pack light.  We have plenty of space to fit large pieces of luggage in the rooftop racks.  Keep in mind that you may be carrying your luggage to your hotels/hostels on the beach, down dirt or cobblestone roads and quite possibly up and down hotel staircases.

What type of clothing should I bring?

Similar to our suggestion for luggage, the lighter the better but again, if you are not someone who packs light no worries!  Keep in mind that weather conditions can change quickly in Mexico.  (Ex: traveling between tropical beach climates and highland/mountainous regions or traveling during the rainy season).  The bare basics are always a must: pants, shorts, short and long sleeved t-shirts, sweater, rain jacket, hat, swimsuit, towel, beach sandals, tennis or hiking shoes.

Can I join up with Bamba Experience anywhere along the route?

Of course!  You can hop on or hop off the Bamba Experience transportation network anytime you feel like it.  You can purchase the Bamba Experience pass that takes you throughout the entire route allowing you to join up whenever you wish.  Feel free to stay in one location for a few days and then continue your adventure once you decide to move on.

Do I need a travel Visa?

Most travelers to Mexico will receive a tourist FMT visa upon arrival which should be kept safely with the rest of your travel documents.  Loss of visa can be a hassle and costly penalty fees may surprise you at customs upon departure so be sure to file a police report and apply for another visa.  As travel visas for each foreign traveler vary greatly, we recommend that you consult you embassy for required travel documents with 6 months anticipation before coming to Mexico.

What vaccinations and medical advice is recommended for Mexico?

A great resource to consult before traveling is US Department of Health, World Health Organization (WHO) or MD Travel Health where you can check out recommended vaccinations for your trip.  If you take prescription medication, be sure to bring enough for your entire trip in Mexico as prescriptions may be difficult to attain without a doctors note.  Additionally it’s always a good idea to go for a check-up before your trip to take care of unforeseen problems that may occur during your time in Mexico and interfere with your fun factor.

Where can I check Mexico travel reports?
